A lot, and I mean A lot of people I know and probably many more that I don’t are
seriously wrapped up in their self-image, character, reputation, persona etc. to
the point where they deprive themselves of doing/saying certain things in order
to maintain a certain image. You know what I say to that? Fuck you!
respectfully, of course :)
Life is about making mistakes, feeling shitty about them, probably repeating
them a couple of times again until the lesson is learned. I mean I’m no
philosopher, but from what I know or what I’ve experienced that’s just how it
goes. you fuck up, you pick yourself up, and move on!
I just wanted to express the way I feel about character vs reputation. Your
character is who you are. Who you’ve become, molded and shaped yourself into
from birth until now. It is completely and totally normal to go back on certain
things, correct them and change a WHOLE lot along the way. However, the things
you do do not define you as a person. Your attitude towards one thing may be
serious and conservative where as your attitude towards something else may be
careless and free. We’re people, not robots.
Of course it all boils down to judgement, which is a WHOLE nother topic in
itself, but what I can say is this.. people will talk, gather all kinds of
information ( true or false ) and compile it into your make-ups. But are you
really living for someone else or for yourself?
Life is a learning process where you have choices, decisions and opportunities.
